The Customer

Solar-shield Exterior Shading is based in Bridgnorth, Shropshire. They offer a complete solution for exterior shading. From products such as; external louvres, vertical screens, venetian blinds, microlouvres, patio awnings and more! Solar-Shield is the sister company to a long established blinds and shutters business of who the owner has over 40 years of experience within the trade.

The project

The project was to build a new, user friendly website for Solar-Shield Exterior Shading as well as a new logo and brand theme.

The website focusses on promoting key features of each product type as well as to promote the importance of solar shading in the home, and why external shading is the way forward both for the environment as well as saving on energy costs.

The site has been launched just this month, however with a 2nd design stage we will be working on a fully functioning consultation booking system for customers to get expert shading advice with a professional expert.

We will also be creating a customised quoting system which will allow visitors to get an instant price for specific products on the site.

I have used a clean and functional design style to complement the vision of the company’s passion for offering clear and expert advice. Using the yellow primary colour as an accent throughout the brand helps the overall design ‘pop’ yet remain uncomplicated. The website also features ‘circle’ shaped graphics which represent the shape within the logo design to provide consistent styling.

The website has been optimised for search engines and focusses on generating leads from new customers.

The website also includes all analytical information to monitor traffic sources and performance.

This website was built using Squarespace which is my preferred website platform, mainly for its simplicity and user experience. I find that Squarespace offers great value for money with add ons such as booking systems, email marketing and e-commerce functionality. If you are looking to build a site yourself, or have a designer build you one that is ridiculously easy to use, this would be my recommended platform.
